to all women and gender-nonconforming makers, doers, and thinkers:
if you are making art, writing about art, writing about your experiences, writing about or making anything at all: please use the 'contact' link below to share your work and be included in spectrum!
spectrum is a new zine + website + blog + shop project featuring the works of contemporary gender-nonconforming and female-identifying visual artists, writers, thinkers, performers, and makers
through its various outlets, spectrum will feature not only gender-nonconforming individuals' and women’s visual and otherwise creative work but also our experiences in the ‘art world;’ our thoughts on representational, economic, and exposure-related inequality/progress; and whatever other discussions may arise from these or new topics
still tbd: each issue will possibly present one of several content-based, geographical, or aesthetic categories (e.g. the grotesque body, ibero-american artists, domestic environments, personal/cultural history, sexuality, severance, the female body in female hands, items & spaces)
submission content can include (but should not be limited to):
- photography
- video
- audio
- performance
- painting
- drawing
- sculpture
- make-up art
- graphic design
- industrial design
- fashion design
- prose
- poetry
- fictional narrative
- theory
- printmaking
this is an interactive, collaborative, open-system project so please feel free to participate and contribute in any way you’d like!
